Window Tinting

Postby dean » Tue Jan 12, 2010 1:55 pm

Hey all, has anyone successfully managed to ever tint their side windows on their vehicle? I'm pretty sure I've seen it around on some vehicles.

If so, was it on PETG and I'm interested to know how it went for visibility at night time. I can see how it would be good in hot weather, but I would have thought any night running might get a bit hairy, especially once a good dose of fogging is thrown in the mix too.

Just wondering.

cheers

U'm yeah Dean, It's a great idea for a hot 6hr I have ridden this machine @ Casey in it's full tint & it makes a huge diffrance on a hot spring day.

As it was seen at Murray Bridge in it's 24hr Trim it had not tint for obvious reasons....... it is extreamly dark with the mirror tint.

But..... i think if you might experament with some light/street leagal tint u might get some result in the dark & with light fogging.

Hope that helps

Have run tinted side windows on a trike a couple of times in the past. No riders complained about visibility at night, but the tint wasn't super dark. Was done for looks and because it was done for nothing. Don't bother now as the side windows are not that big anymore and I feel that it makes the PET a little bit brittle.
Some say I have no mechanical sympathy - wrong, I always feel sorry for the cars I drive.
