I remember one year at EB, the B peninsula hpv team got 3rd on the grid while we were way back, and they wouldn’t swap with us, so we were on a mission, it was deff the most fun iv ever had while HPV racing! Got to the lead by lap 3 when optimus prime rolled out in front of me! Im sure ty must have felt the same starting last on the grid at MB last year too! :D

Easy enough to organise Steele... just turn up to the grid 30 seconds before race start and you're sure to start at the rear! Mind you, you might have to walk home afterwards

After the mad 3 week rush last for MB, I'm not too keen on fronting up for another go in rush mode. Maybe over summer, if the boys are keen get "dusty" again.

Plus, we know the current one goes as proven by Steele taking out fastest lap again on Sunday. Interesting tight race it was too with all four of us (Blueshift, Ballistic, BYR, ExPats) finishing on the same lap at the end and 3 laps more than the record set at round 1! Could have been anyone's race really as I think we all had minor "issues" of some kind that made a difference. Our chassis design changes kinda worked as hoped, a few more wrinkles to iron out and we'll be set.

Augurs well for a very fast MB this year!

Good race all, Good to see BYR and flora make the trip over. Also good to see them 3rd. or whatever they came. not saying i didnt want you to win, only that im glad blueshift and ballistic have what it takes to contest the win come 5 weeks time.

Also good to see brenton and john from tru blu over with ducky and steele. Always good to see some new faces checking out the sprint races.

Congrats to Blueshift and Ballistic, it was a very close race and both would have deserved the win. Bad luck to ballistic but unfortunatly when you race with primary schools and junior sec kids, thats all apart of racing. and you can't help those things.

Issue i had was the old slow cars on the right.

I'm going to propose a new rule to the AIPP shortly saying basicly " Even if your winning the race, someone could overtake you, so if your not overtaking, stay in the middle of the track, or to the left" makes it sounds better too, because no one likes to be called slow.

Good to see expats stay in one peice.. even if that peice had to be ziptied back up? what went on there?

anywho, im off, good race all, can't wait to see race reports and photos.

Wot ' e said! Congrats to blueshift on taking the flag again, and to Ballistic & BYR for making a tense battle of it all the way. We (feels weird for me to be referring to GT-06 as "we"!) had a good solid run all the way; no mechanicals, no stacks (yes, there were some donuts, but they don't count as stacks, 'cos the guys didn't hit anything!), only a couple of minor trades of paint. Great fun to get over & experience one of the sprint races, learn a new track and of course get some much-needed traffic training for The Bridge :P And of course it was great to catch up with some guys, and meet some new faces. And of course, big cheers to tsco & the crew for having me along for the ride. Next stop Maroondah.
PS, I'm glad I wasn't in Steele's place for the final stint after Chundagutz left his lunch in the ExPats vehicle! EEEWWWWW!!!

I think we can be reasonably happy with 9th after a few issues early on in the race. The trike showed good pace, its just a pity that small, avoidable issues such as buckled wheels, bearings, debris and rider issues held us back a bit. A little more refinement and better preparation for The Bridge and we can hopefully look forward to a good result.

I'd hardly say 9th is a bad result. We did more laps this time around than ever before, were more consistent, had no rider problems, and finished 5th. We're 100% happy with how we went. The level has definantly stepped up since round 1.

We've been working on our new creation for quite a while, but its still going to be tight to get it finished for MB. We wern't really going to announce our plans until we were at least reasonably comfortable that we'd be able to deliver. I think the article said we've been working on the newbie for 5 months, but its probably more like 3 - finishing the PhD off took a couple of months longer than I expected. Proper design takes ages. I have no idea how we'll go, this year is more about learning how to do head in/wheels in than anything else.
